Bio

James is from Davenport, Iowa and is in his senior year of his bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering. His interest in atmospheric science research comes from his passion for fluid dynamics that was cultivated during his NASA internships. James' research in the Tropical Atmospheric Dynamics group is focused on analyzing daily–weekly latitudinal shifts in the inter-tropical convergence zone by use of Python data visualization tools. He is grateful to the Iowa Space Grant Consortium for funding his research. Upon graduation in December 2020, James will pursue a PhD focusing on fluid dynamics. His broad research interests include: · Wind energy · Atmospheric dynamics · Numerical modeling · Bio-inspired aerodynamics
